What is MDNT-OWL?

What is MDNT-OWL?

Yes and no. Sounds confusing? It's not. MDNT-OWL is the cool looking owl logo you're obsessed with. It's just the face of the brand. It began back in 2016 at Addlestone library in Charleston, SC. I remember being introduced to the idea of drawing your own logo. What really stuck with me is this advice; If something is stuck in your mind try to get it on paper and it's ok if it doesn't look good at first. It's important to keep going back at it until you feel you have perfected it the best you can by hand. After creating it I decided to begin the company as Midnight Owl Collection. This was late 2015 early 2016. I really enjoyed it, it took a lot of hard work to self teach yourself Adobe Illustrator let alone as a full time student studying Business Management.

As an entrepreneur and a future business owner, it's one of those things that has to be done. For some it's the priority it takes over your day-to-day life. You have to execute it. Not having time is no excuse; you make time for what you want to achieve. We decided to do basic tee's at first. I bought a four color printing press that was out of  unassembled wood. This gave me somewhat of a taste of screen printing and the process of emulsion, burning a screen with a lamp, curing it, and the final step of actually printing. We intent to go back to our roots with self screen printing our clothing. This allows for a more curated collection of streetwear done the original way. In Fall 2026 we're going to rerelease Original Baseball T Quarter Sleeve colorways available.

Now, where are we at in 2026? I wasn't expecting MDNT-OWL to become a retail store this year. It's nice because it started out as preparation and that led to me meeting my retail space owners. It couldn't have worked out anymore God sent. On February 2nd 2026  I decided to tour the property after finding a post on Facebook Marketplace believe it or not. I toured the room and got info on everything. It's close by and minutes from the heart of downtown Summerville. There is a smooth blacktop parking lot outside of the shop. After seeing all of that I knew I was serious about the place. Her husband happened to have surgery and there were a few other people interested in the unit which allowed me some time to get the deposit together. Which what was more amazing is they decided to give me the keys to the shop on Skateshop Day. I will make a separate Blog post about the Grand Opening event scheduled for Friday April 24th 2026.
